The Disney "fansite" MousePlanet is reporting today that the Epcot Wonders of Life pavilion is reopening for the holiday season, Nov. 26 through Dec. 31. This is according to an internal cast member (employee) publication.
Guest favorites, such as Body Wars, Cranium Command, and The Making of Me, are expected to be operating during this five-week period.
Wonders of Life has been closed to guests (except for seasonal openings) since 2001, when it lost its sponsor MetLife. It is often rumored to be "closing for good," making it a must-see attraction for holiday visitors. This time may be the last!

Remember the Grinch who stole Christmas? He wasn't the only one.
There's an Orlando-based organization that is trying to stop "attacks" on Christmas celebrations around the nation.
This is the group that led last year's effort to stop the censorship of the word "Christmas" with the watered-down substitute "holiday."
As Orlando's "headquarters hotel" for the Christmas season, we welcome their help!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 11, 2006
Liberty Counsel Launches Fourth Annual Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign
Thousands of Churches, Organizations and Individuals Unite to
"Help Save Christmas"™
Orlando, FL - Liberty Counsel, a nationwide, public interest civil liberties law firm, is launching its fourth annual Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign in anticipation of another active season defending attacks on Christmas celebrations. Liberty Counsel makes a pledge to be the "Friend" to those entities which do not censor Christmas and a "Foe" to those that do. Last December, ABC's Good Morning America assessed Liberty Counsel's Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign during an interview with Dr. Jerry Falwell. The host observed that the campaign had ignited a "movement."
Last year Liberty Counsel successfully handled scores of cases in defense of Christmas, including a lawsuit against two Florida towns that would not permit a nativity scene in a public park. Liberty Counsel intervened in numerous other situations last year and as a result, Boston stopped calling its Christmas tree a "holiday tree"; Wellington, Florida, allowed a nativity scene to join a Christmas tree and a menorah; state employees were allowed to have Christmas parties instead of generic "holiday parties"; schools included religious songs in their choral presentations; students were allowed to recognize the Christian aspects of Christmas; retailers started wishing shoppers "Merry Christmas" and renamed their trees from "holiday trees" to "Christmas trees"; and there were many other victories.
On its web site, http://www.LC.org, Liberty Counsel offers a Help Save Christmas™ action pack, which includes educational legal memoranda to educate government officials, teachers, parents, students, private businesses, employees and others that it is legal to celebrate Christmas. The action pack also includes an "I
CHRISTmas™" button and bumper sticker, an "I Helped Save Christmas" button and bumper sticker, and sample ads for use in local newspapers to promote Christmas. The ads point out that celebrating Christmas is still legal in schools, on public property and in private businesses and offer Liberty Counsel's free assistance to those facing persecution for celebrating Christmas. Last year many churches placed these ads in local newspapers. Again this year, thousands of public school teachers and administrators who are members of Christian Educators Association International have joined the Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign.
Anita Staver, President of Liberty Counsel, commented: "Christmas is constitutional. We cannot allow our religious liberty and heritage swept from the public square." Staver continued, "Our Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign will mobilize millions of Americans to help save Christmas. When enough people learn the truth - that we can celebrate the religious aspects of Christmas - the ACLU and similar 'grinches' will lose their power to censor Christmas."
Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, commented: "Renaming a Christmas tree to a holiday tree, stopping students from wearing red and green, and censoring religious Christmas carols are absurd, but true, examples of the war against Christmas. Last year we put the 'grinches' on the run. This year millions of Americans will join us to help save Christmas."

Food, Orlando News, Thanksgiving |

We've heard from many disappointed diners that Renaissance Resort at SeaWorld will not be holding their long-running Thanksgiving Brunch and Christmas Brunch this year.
Never fear! For a similar experience, we recommend the Thanksgiving and Christmas Brunch at Villa de Flora, inside Gaylord Palms Resort. After all, these extravagant meals have won "Best Florida Brunch" year after year by readers of Florida Monthly!
Featuring a seasonal market-inspired menu of more than 100 items, Brunch at Villa de Flora has grown a cult-like following!
In addition, Gaylord Palms is featuring a brand-new Thanksgiving and Christmas brunch experience at Old Hickory Steakhouse. Although Brunch at Villa de Flora is decidely upscale, it appears that Chef Guy Reinbolt at Old Hickory is about to take it up a notch. And you can't beat the atmosphere inside the resort's Everglades atrium!
Besides turkey and other holiday standbys, Old Hickory's brunch menu includes a selection of cheeses from the restaurant's famed artisinal cheese program, authentic New Orleans jambalaya, and Maryland blue point oysters served on the half shell. This may be the only Brunch in Orlando that serves sautéed wild mushroom crusted ostrich medallion with coconut milk polenta.
Deciding on what to try first may be a challenge. Considering the time Chef Guy spent in New Orleans… we'll start with his jambalaya!
Reservations are recommended, as meals at both venues are expected to sell out quickly: 407-586-0000.
Note: Villa de Flora has a menu that is more "kid friendly," and features a "kiddie bar" as well as a special price for children.

If your visit to Orlando involves a "pick up" at Orlando International Airport, it may have gotten a bit easier… just in time for the holidays.
For the convenience of visitors picking up arriving passengers in private vehicles, a new complimentary 100-space cellular phone parking lot is being built on South Airport Boulevard.
The lot will be situated on a portion of the current Red Satellite Lot, south of the main terminal building. The lot allows drivers to wait until notified of their passenger’s arrival and baggage pick-up before driving to the arriving flights curb.
Soon, the days of the "airport loop" will be gone. If anybody has ever arrived early to pick up a late flight… you know exactly what I'm talking about.
The project is expected to be completed by the Thanksgiving holiday travel season.
One more tidbit for fun:
Orlando International Airport served more than 34.1 million passengers in 2005 making it the 12th busiest airport in the nation, 21st busiest in the world and busiest in Florida. That's a whole lotta peanuts.
